Il giorno 6 ottobre 2023, alle ore 16,00, si terrà l’inaugurazione della mostra aperta al pubblico
‘SWARAJ’ , presso la Sala Margana, in Piazza Margana 41, nella splendida Roma del Rione Campitelli.
L'esposizione artistica ‘SWARAJ’, sarà inaugurata dall'Ambasciatrice, presente in Sala, Sua Eccellenza Dottessa Neena Malhotra e dalla Assessora all’Agricoltura, Ambiente e Ciclo dei Rifiuti del Comune di Roma Sabrina Alfonsi.
Collegamento da New Delhi con THE NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM & HASTKALA ACADEMY.
A seguire interverranno:
Ore 16,30: Dott.ssa Martina Pignatti Moreno (studiosa del pensiero di Ghandi)
in ricordo del contributo offerto dal Mahatma Gandhi al pensiero in opposizione al colonialismo britannico, in favore dell’indipendenza dell’India.
Ore 17,00: Intervento della Storica dell'Arte Floriana Mauro - presentazione delle opere degli artisti indiani ed italiani, ciascuno dei quali, secondo la propria sensibilità, renderà omaggio all’ immensa opera umanitaria di chi, grazie alla forza delle proprie idee, è riuscito a cambiare il destino di un popolo e a trasmettere a tutto il mondo i principi fondamentali della lotta pacifista.

Seguirà la visita tra le opere esposte.
Un messaggio di pace, oggi come sempre primario fondamento per l’affermazione della dignità dell’essere umano:
bene comune, rispetto, ascolto, accoglienza, valori che il Mahatma ci ha trasmesso con la sua vita e le sue azioni, da sempre portatrici di benessere, armonia, ed equilibrio rivolto all’intero bioma.
Gli artisti saranno ‘portatori emotivi’ di questi messaggi, con le loro diverse sensibilità ed identità espressive.
I visitatori contribuiranno con la loro percezione individuale, a costruire un’atmosfera intensa, tra gli spazi dedicati, di silenzioso scambio ideale dei valori celebrati e ne risulteranno sanati e confermati in una bellezza che guarisce le ferite della storia.
Gran parte delle opere sono state realizzate su tessuto artigianale Dandi, proveniente per l’occasione dall'India.

– Swaraj exhibition – 6th October
‘SWARAJ’, a term popularized by Mahatma Gandhi during India's freedom struggle against British colonialism. Swaraj was not only a political concept but also a social and economic one. It emphasized the need to empower the masses and promote self-sufficiency and self-reliance. Artists from Italy and India come together collaboratively to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, who led masses in non-violent protest to ease poverty, expand women's rights, build ethnic and religious amity, end untouchability, and achieve Swaraj.
The artistic exhibition 'SWARAJ' will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Ambassador of India - Her Excellency Dr. Neena Malhotra, and by the Councilor for Agriculture, Environment and Waste Cycle of the Municipality of Rome – Ms. Sabrina Alfonsi on 6th October 2023 at the Sala Margana, in Piazza Margana 41, in the splendid Rome of Rione Campitelli.
A message of peace, today as always, the primary foundation for the affirmation of the dignity of the human being: common good, respect, listening, welcome, values that Mahatma Gandhi has transmitted to us with his life and his actions, which have always been bearers of well-being, harmony and balance aimed at the entire humanity
The artists will be 'emotional bearers' of these messages with their different sensibilities and expressive identities. Visitors will contribute with their individual perception to build an intense atmosphere, among the dedicated spaces, of silent ideal exchange of the celebrated values and will be healed and confirmed in a beauty that heals the wounds of history.
The inauguration of the exhibition open to the public will be held on 6 October 2023, at 4.00 pm.
Virtual connection will be established with the Indian counterparts in New Delhi at THE NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM & HASTKALA ACADEMY, where there is a similar exhibition.
4.30 pm: Dr. Martina Pignatti Moreno (scholar of Gandhi’s thoughts) in memory of the contribution offered by Mahatma Gandhi during India's freedom struggle against British colonialism and India’s independence.
5.00 pm: Speech by the art historian Floriana Mauro - presentation of the works of Indian and Italian artists, each of whom, according to their own sensitivity, will pay homage to the immense humanitarian work of those who, thanks to the strength of their own ideas, are managed to change the destiny of a people and to transmit the fundamental principles of the pacifist struggle to the whole world.
Following, a brief historical contribution on the identity of Dr. Emanuela Sestieri on the Sala Margana. A visit to the works on display to follow.
Most of the artwork is created on handcrafted Dandi fabric, coming from India for the occasion.
The exhibition will be open to visitors on 6th, 7th & 8th October 2023 between 4.00pm - 8.00pm.
